CompuNet Services search engine submission service should be the first item in your website marketing plan. We will submit your website's address (URL) to over 200 of the best search engines and directories on the Internet. Our service includes:

	•	HOME PAGE PREPARATION
		The first thing we do is make sure your website's home page has the proper information embedded in the HTML code to get the best possible ranking in the search engines. This includes adding code (known as "metatags") with a brief description of your site, along with keywords that will be used to index your site with the search engines. We also check that the home page's "title" tag is worded to give maximum benefit—something often overlooked by even seasoned webmasters.
	•	BY-HAND SUBMISSIONS
		There are about a dozen search engines that are considered "the majors"; these include Yahoo!, Excite, Alta Vista, Google, and others. Our marketing experts will carefully submit your website to these search engines one at a time, to ensure they are correctly entered.
	•	AUTOMATED SUBMISSIONS
		We use the latest software to electronically submit your website's address to over 200 of the best general-purpose and content-specific website search engines and directories. Our database of search engines and directories is updated on a daily basis, and our software knows how and when to submit your website for maximum effectiveness. Note that because of factors beyond our control, not every submission may be completed successfully. It is possible that a search engine may be temporarily out of service at the time of the submission process, or may not be accepting new submissions for technical reasons. Because of this, we will resubmit your website's address and information 48 hours after the initial submission—an important step most other search engine submission services leave out. Our software automatically logs which engines were successful on the first attempt, and will not resubmit to those engines on the second attempt (this ensures that you are not accused of "flooding" the search engines with your address, which is a violation of policy with most).

Subscription Services

The vast majority of the search engine websites included in our service are computer-automated "spiders" (see our FAQ for a description of search spiders). These automated systems deliver search results based on keywords, and will most often list the sites they've most recently indexed first. For this reason, it's important to resubmit your site to the search engines on a regular basis to ensure that your site is listed as close to the top as possible. Our subscription service will resubmit your site to all of our search engines (except non-automated directory search sites like Yahoo!) on a monthly basis.

Most spider-based search engines have rules regarding how often you are allowed to resubmit your site; breaking the rules will more than likely get your website banned from that site. We maintain a database with the most up-to-date rules on each search engine—you never have to worry about breaking any submission rules with our service.
